We have had a lovely holiday: Haddon Hall, Eyam, Magpie Mine, Castleton, a wonderful drive and walk around reservoirs..Barnes Wallace Dambusters Derwent especially, and – despite rain – some walks and visits to local villages. In the Hayloft we’ve enjoyed the pretty china and finding everything works!

We’ve had another lovely stay – meeting up with family in Derby and near Macclesfield – and visiting favourite haunts – the David Mellor Centre at Hathersage and the antiques centre in Bakewell. New this time was a trip to Thornbridge Hall and the Tideswell Cinema (upstairs at the George). The weather has been very mixed and we’ve been more leisurely than usual, plenty of reading and violin practice for Marilyn. Hayloft always feels a lovely base, and place to come back to….. Back for a second week in what is a lovely cottage. Unfortunately we have seen rain every day this week, got a soaking on the Tuesday. Molly still doesn’t like the cows with a bit of barking at times, she prefers sheep! All in all a lovely place to stay especially when the sun shines!
