Fantastic stay for a week over Sharon’s 50th birthday. Beautiful weather for 6 of the 7 days.

If you are up for walking would recommend;
Going around the grounds at Chatsworth House;
The circular walk up to Mam Tor to see the amazing views;
Also Millers Dale to Chee ale along the River Wye. Stunning walk but can be a bit rocky in places;

Fantastic bicycle routes provided

Definitely make a visit to Bakewell to get some original Bakewell Pudding

A wonderful week and somewhere we will definitely recommend and would love to return to

Yet another lovely stay – we think our 7th time!

Recommendations:-

1. The Church Inn at Chelmorton – good food, nice and cosy
2. The Royal Oak at Hurdlow – really tasty food, very busy so advisable to book a table
3. Gurkha Tingmo restaurant in Buxton – nice variation on an Indian restaurant – would go back
4. Millers Dale & Chee Dale – lovely when the weather’s good
5. Lathkil Dale – never walked this until this visit – well worth doing
6. Sunrise on Bamford Edge – waiting for the sun there was really special (at 5:30am!)

Wood burner essential at start of week. Wish we’d had shorts by the end of the week!

Fantastic cottage and views, Patsy & Dina loved the garden and the log burner!! Very peaceful and relaxing, hope to return soon :)

For our birthdays DJ took me on a magical mystery tour for the weekend – and this was my amazing surprise! I absolutely love the Peak District and this incredible piece of paradise! I just wish we had longer.

Enjoyed walking the ridge of Mam Tor. Being ‘fen folk’, we aren’t used to mountains and hills so really enjoyed the scenery!
